What you'll accomplish
By the end of this guide, you'll be able to generate photorealistic event concept images for client discovery sessions — showing them ballroom setups, table designs, lighting concepts, and venue atmosphere ideas — before you've spent a single dollar on design work. Clients make faster decisions when they can see a visual, and you'll spend 20 minutes instead of 2 hours curating Pinterest boards.
What you'll need
/subscribe in the message box and press Enter → choose your planWhat you should see: You'll be redirected to the Midjourney website to complete payment. After subscribing, you can use Midjourney in your own Discord server or via the Midjourney website directly at midjourney.com.
Troubleshooting: If commands don't work, make sure you're typing in a channel where Midjourney is active (look for the Midjourney bot in the channel member list on the right).
In the Midjourney message box, type /imagine followed by your event description prompt. Press Enter.
Prompt structure: [event type] interior design, [color palette], [theme/atmosphere], [occasion tone], wide shot, photorealistic, professional event photography --ar 16:9
Example: /imagine corporate gala ballroom interior, navy blue and gold, luxury modern, dramatic uplighting, floral centerpieces, photorealistic, professional event photography --ar 16:9
What you should see: Within 60–90 seconds, 4 image variations appear based on your prompt.
Review the 4 images. Under the image set, click U1, U2, U3, or U4 to upscale your preferred option to high resolution. Click V1–V4 to generate 4 new variations based on a specific image you liked.
Generate 3–4 different visual directions for each event:
This gives clients real options, not just a "here's what you asked for" — and often they react most strongly to Option C.
Right-click any upscaled image → Save image → save to your event folder. Create a simple slide in Canva or PowerPoint with the 4 concepts labeled A through D. Present these in your second discovery meeting as "initial visual directions" before committing to any vendors.
Corporate gala / awards dinner:
